Diagnosing ADHD in the UK GPs in England, Scotland and Wales are unable to diagnose ADHD however they can refer you to an NHS specialist to conduct an assessment. This is referred to as a "right to choose" referral. A thorough ADHD assessment can take between 45 to 90 minutes.
