Mesothelioma - A Rare Asbestos Disease Mesothelioma, a rare form of cancer, occurs in the linings of internal organs. It is most prevalent in the lungs and abdomen (peritoneum) but it can also be found in the pleura. The risk of developing the disease is increased when asbestos is exposed.
